Skateboard Shades by Shwood

As an experiment the guys over at Shwood Eyewear decided to make some sunglasses out of broken skateboards. Based out of LA, here is a video that shows the process of making these one-of-a-kind glasses. I say they keep making them, people will buy them, and you are recycling! I’ve been wanting to get a pair of Shwood shades for a while now!

Dario Franchitti 2011 Toronto Honda Indy Victory Donut

In what was one of the craziest, exciting, crash-filled races of the series, Dario Franchitti in his ferrari managed to get away with a win in Toronto this Weekend. Here he is doing his victory donuts in front of the grand stand.

Here is the controversial moment when Franchitti got under Will Power’s car. It didn’t end there, he bashed Franchitti after the race as well as Tagliani calling him a “Wanker” before taking to his twitter account to release some more frustration.

Toronto Maple Leafs Win Stanley Cup….

was the headline of the newspaper in May of 1967. I wasn’t even born for another 20 years. Add to that the 24 years I have been living and we are left with a number. That number is 44. That is the number of years it has been since the Toronto Maple Leafs have won the Stanley Cup. Toronto lives and breathes hockey and has the most rabid fans of any other team. The leafs are continually the highest grossing NHL team in the league with the most sold out games and merchandise sales, yet they still can’t win. Leaf fans are growing old, especially those who were around to see the glory years of the 60s. The new generation of fans has never been able to witness a winning tradition at all in Toronto. We haven’t even made it to the playoffs in years. Hopefully 2011-2012 will be the year to turn things around. Until then, we are left with these black and white pictures….

Toronto Blue Jays Win World Series!

Oh Sorry, I was dreaming again…..

The Toronto Blue Jays won back-to-back World Series’ in both the 1992 and 1993 seasons; becoming the only team to do so since the 77′-78′ New York Yankees. However, we haven’t had much to cheer about in Toronto lately and the city is long overdue for some big wins! It’s been almost 18 years ago and I think it’s time for Jose Bautista and Ricky Romero to bring it home again!

Leafs goalie James Reimer’s mask for the upcoming 2011-2012 season has been revealed. Can’t wait to see Optimus Reim back between the posts
