Boston Bruins Win Stanley Cup!

Game 7 just ended and the Bruins beat the Canucks 4-0 on home ice. I have been criticized a lot for cheering for Boston, with people telling me Vancouver is “Canada’s team” and that I should want the Stanley Cup on Canadian soil. However, 17 of the 22 players on the Bruins roster are CANADIAN, making them a hell of a lot more Canadian than the Canucks. And about that Stanley Cup being on Canadian soil; Its always on Canadian soil. They store it in Toronto at the Hockey Hall of Fame! So theres that! haha

The Boston Bruins won their first Stanley Cup in 39 years, defeating the Vancouver Canucks 4-0 Wednesday night in the seventh and deciding game of the National Hockey League’s annual championship. Still can’t believe they were shutout, couldn’t even put one passed Timmy T who received the Conn Smythe as MVP. Good ol’ Nova Scotia boy Brad Marchand with 2 goals and 1 assist in the game. Tyler Seguin became the youngest rookie to win the Stanley Cup at age 19, second to none other than his teammate Mark Reechiwho also did it way back when.

The Bruins now have won the Stanley Cup six times, fourth-most among all NHL franchises, but hadn’t captured the sport’s most coveted prize since 1972. They had been to the finals five other times since they last won, but this time marked their first appearance since 1990.

The Canucks have been to the finals three times in their 41 seasons in the league, but have never won. Holding the home-ice advantage, they won the first two games of the series, but lost all three games played in Boston before losing at home on Wednesday.

They were seeking to become the first Canadian team to win the NHL title since the Montreal Canadiens in 1993.

Tim Thomas & Nathan Horton Hits’

Last night was a crazy game in Boston. The bruins ended up crushing the Canucks 8-1, but the scoring was the least exciting part of the game. The entire game was fast-paced with everyone finishing their hits. Here are the two most notable hits of the nights.

Nathan Horton getting knocked out/concussed by Vancouver’s Aaron Rome. Rome was suspended for 4 games and Horton is out with a concussion.
