Boston Bruins Win Stanley Cup!

Game 7 just ended and the Bruins beat the Canucks 4-0 on home ice. I have been criticized a lot for cheering for Boston, with people telling me Vancouver is “Canada’s team” and that I should want the Stanley Cup on Canadian soil. However, 17 of the 22 players on the Bruins roster are CANADIAN, making them a hell of a lot more Canadian than the Canucks. And about that Stanley Cup being on Canadian soil; Its always on Canadian soil. They store it in Toronto at the Hockey Hall of Fame! So theres that! haha

The Boston Bruins won their first Stanley Cup in 39 years, defeating the Vancouver Canucks 4-0 Wednesday night in the seventh and deciding game of the National Hockey League’s annual championship. Still can’t believe they were shutout, couldn’t even put one passed Timmy T who received the Conn Smythe as MVP. Good ol’ Nova Scotia boy Brad Marchand with 2 goals and 1 assist in the game. Tyler Seguin became the youngest rookie to win the Stanley Cup at age 19, second to none other than his teammate Mark Reechiwho also did it way back when.

The Bruins now have won the Stanley Cup six times, fourth-most among all NHL franchises, but hadn’t captured the sport’s most coveted prize since 1972. They had been to the finals five other times since they last won, but this time marked their first appearance since 1990.

The Canucks have been to the finals three times in their 41 seasons in the league, but have never won. Holding the home-ice advantage, they won the first two games of the series, but lost all three games played in Boston before losing at home on Wednesday.

They were seeking to become the first Canadian team to win the NHL title since the Montreal Canadiens in 1993.

Tim Thomas & Nathan Horton Hits’

Last night was a crazy game in Boston. The bruins ended up crushing the Canucks 8-1, but the scoring was the least exciting part of the game. The entire game was fast-paced with everyone finishing their hits. Here are the two most notable hits of the nights.

Nathan Horton getting knocked out/concussed by Vancouver’s Aaron Rome. Rome was suspended for 4 games and Horton is out with a concussion.

Boston vs Vancouver Game 1 Stanley Cup Final Songs

The quest for Lord Stanley’s Cup begins tonight for the Vancouver Canucks and the Boston Bruins. It should be a good series and hopefully it goes to a game 7. Game one starts in a little over an hour so in the meantime watch these videos for each team

(I know as a Canadian I am supposed to cheer for Vancouver….but after watching these videos I have to go for Boston, I apologize nation [and savannah])

Roberto Luongo Shows the Green Men Love

Following Vancouver’s victory over the San Jose Sharks last night to advance to the Stanley Cup Final, Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo made sure to show ‘The Green Men’ some love before leaving the ice.

What if P.K. Subban Never Played Hockey?

James Reimer is the FUTURE

They call him Optimus Reim. The name definitely suits him. The Maple Leaf rookie goaltender just got his 16th win of the year, along with his 3rd shutout. He has been the one glimmer of hope in the Leafs playoff push. With 8 games remaining in the season sitting 5 points out of the playoffs, the Leafs truly can’t afford to lose any games. I saw the strangest coaching decision happen last week when Ron Wilson opted to play JS Giguere against the Florida Panthers instead of Reimer. Reimer in fact didn’t even dress that game. We lost 3-0 to Florida in a must-win game where we desperately needed those 2 points. Hopefully it doesn’t come back to haunt us. We can only look to the future now, and the final 8 games. GO LEAFS GO

Check out this HUGE save by Reimer followed by the Air Canada Centre chant of REIMER, REIMER, REIMER!

Big Game tonight against Philly. We are 4 pts out of the playoffs. Lets go boys!

Gank Video x Wes Welker on Rex Ryan’s Foot Fetish

A few weeks ago it was exposed that Rex Ryan, the head coach of the New York Jets was into some freaky foot fetish things with his wife. Videos surfaced on the internet of Rex filming his wife’s feet and talking about them, also nude pictures of his wife etc.

here is a picture taken from one of his videos.

Anyways this week is a big match up in the NFL playoffs with the Jets taking on the New England Patriots and Tom Brady. In a press conference yesterday, Patriots wide reciever Wes Welker managed to take MANY subliminal jabs at the Jets coach about his foot fetish. Hilarious!
